Happy stories are always the result of the teamwork of a community of caring people and professional organizations. It is just such a story happening these days.
Two brown bears were evacuated from a private menagerie near Pokrovsk (Donetsk Oblast, front-line area) with the help of the Wild Animals Rescue Center. The male immediately went to the wonderful «Bear sanctuary – Domazhyr» (Lviv Oblast), operated by «Four Paws Intl.» The female temporarily rested with us and on November 6 also went to Domazhyr. They will live there until they receive documents to move to Europe to one of the organizations of the EARS alliance.
We are happy to have become a part of salvation history. May these bears never again live in a cage and suffer from war.
